How to Reset a Check Engine Light for Vehicle
Your check engine light often shows when there is an issue with your vehicle's emigration control system or another computerized system. The light generates a code you're able to use to identify the issue and have it addressed. If the law does not spontaneously clear after fixing it up, you might also need to individually reset the light. Use of a code scanner is the elegant way to switch off a check engine light. But, if your car was made before 1996, you can simply unplug the battery to turn the lamp back on.
Step 1
At first, buy or borrow an OBD-II code scanner.
Step 2
Secondly, plug the scanner into the port under the steering column.
Step 3
Then turn the key to the “on” position and press the “read” button on the scanner.
Step 4
Now, press the "erase" button on your scanner, then turn off the key and disconnect it.
Step 5
Then remove the negative cable from the vehicle’s battery.
Step 6
Also, drain any remaining electricity from the capacitor.
Step 7
Finally, Wait only 15 minutes and then reconnect your battery.
