We started the business in Los Angeles in 1984 and moved to Oakland in 1988. We found the Macarthur Bl. location in 1990 and have been there since.
We keep a mix of 4 cyl gas savers as well as 6 and 8 cyl models. The Japanese makes have been popular since we started and have lived up to their reputation for reliability. We also like European models like Volvo, BMW and Mercedes. The Korean Hyundai and Kia brands have developed a loyal following based on their durability as well. Many American models have also proven to be very reliable and the parts tend to be a little cheaper; keeping repair costs down.
We like the older cars best because of the value that is locked in. The older the car, the less depreciation impacts its overall value. The challenge, of course is to find the older car that acts like a young one. That's where the insight and experience of someone who knows cars is very helpful. When you find the right car and maintain it properly, it will last longer than you would expect. Many times, the only way to get the it off the road is for the State to buy it back through the Vehicle Retirement Program.
We have access to 1000s of cars every week at the dealer auctions we attend. Every make and model you can imagine eventually makes it way through one of these facilities. If you don't see what you want in our inventory, call to find out if it's going to be coming up at one of the auctions we visit.
